IM abbreviations

I know it's difficult to tweet entire thoughts in 140 characters or less but, puleeze - must every other word be an abbreviation or stupid spelling? Today we were followed by a young lady where every tweet looks something like this: Dissapointd dat r cty s so boring. Wud b hap if it wld lk btr. (translation: Disappointed that our city is so boring. Would be happy if it would look better) and my frnd n i r etng sushi (translation: My friend and I are eating sushi) It's gonna take me an hour to decode her tweets every time. Oh Puleeze! I can understand using a few abbreviations to make a tweet fit into the 140 character limit but must every other word be this non-language stuff? dat=that. The REAL word is one more letter! And most sentences can survive without the word that in them at all - try it! Even better, try typing so everyone can actually read what you're saying and, gasp, use two or three tweets to do it - that's ok too!

Twitter Gurus...

Or how about the Twitter gurus who direct message their followers consistently asking for retweets, "check out my blog" requests and such but then if you DM them back to ask the same they ignore you? If you're not in the inner "guru" circle you may as well forget that - oh Puleeze!

Social Media certification?

So I guess all the rage now is that you can become a social media expert by becoming "certified"? Since social media is a relatively new phenomenon, I'm curious... how did the person doing the certifying become certified to be a social media certfier? The best part is that to get this special certification you only have to spend... um... $1500+! Oh Puleeze!
