SCAM ALERT! Work for Google? Or just pay them money?

So someone tweeted me a link for this GREAT offer from Google to work from home with there new link building "job" - Get Paid by Google it says. All you pay is a lovely $2.95 fee to get their Work at Home kit - that is if the spot in your area is still available.

So, I bit - why not check it out. I'm glad I did. You input your address, phone number and email and voila- it takes you to their credit card screen where, SURPRISE, you get a couple of lovely discounts so this work from home kit is only $1.97. Aren't they just super nice.

Oh... wait. You might want to check out the fine print underneath the credit card form - and um, check it out BEFORE you hit submit:

Terms and Disclosures. Billing authorization obtained pursuant to the Uniform Electronic Transaction Act and the Electronic Signatures in Global and National Transactions Act. By submitting this form, I am ordering GoogleFortune for a 7-day bonus period for $1.97 billed to my credit Card; If you enjoy GoogleFortune, simply do nothing. On the 7th day my credit card will automatically be charged $69.97 and every month, thereafter, unless I cancel by calling 1-877-361-8622 M - F, 8am-8pm PST. I also agree to the 14 day and 21 day bonus trials to Grant Members Site™ (1-877-495-1145) and Network Agenda™ (1-800-418-9320) for $19.95 a month and $9.95 a month thereafter, the trial will begin the day I submit this electronic form, should I choose not to cancel. Contact customer support at 1-877-361-8622 M - F, 8am-8pm PST
I looked up the cancellation number listed and guess what - um - IT'S A SCAM. See this link and this link and this link for other complaints filed on the 800/877 numbers listed.

Unbelievable. I wonder how many people have fallen for this junk just because they didn't read the fine print and thought Google would be above stuff like this.

Oh Puleeze!

I don't want to see your Tightie Whities!

Well this song says it all in the chorus... "Please pull your pants up!" I've never understood fashion trends... how they start, why people latch onto them with cult like obsession. First it was teenagers turning down the waistband of their shorts with the excuse that it was "uncomfortable" around their waist - yeah, sure - and now it's "men" (I use that term lightly) who feel the need to wear their pants on their knees so their underwear shows? Sigh... preppy look - please come back!!!

Watch out - he might eat your yogurt!
